Elaine Ann Ballinger

Elaine Ann Ballinger, 76, Marion, passed away at 5:50 am on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in her home. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, May 31, 1947, to Charles and Evelyn Clark.  On December 17, 1966, she married James “Tip” Ballinger, Sr., and he survives.  

Elaine graduated from Marion High School in 1965 and was a homemaker throughout her life.  She faithfully served her family.  Elaine was very dedicated to her faith and was a Eucharistic minister at St. Paul Catholic Church.  She had the most beautiful rock and flower garden.  Elaine loved her children and grandchildren very much, and she will be deeply missed.  

In addition to her loving husband, James “Tip” Ballinger, Sr., survivors include her son, James “Tip” (Georgia) Ballinger, Jr., of Morgantown; daughters, Stacy (Brian) Gallaway of Sweetser and Angie (Ean) Van Winkle of Kokomo; grandsons, Jordan Ballinger of Carmel, Brandon “BJ” (Kailyn) White of Marion, Cody White of Marion, and Ethan Gallaway of Marion; granddaughters, Kyleigh White of Sweetser, Chloe Van Winkle of Kokomo, and Allie Van Winkle of Kokomo; great-granddaughters, Lakely White and Nora White; great-grandson, Christian White; sister, Karen Owen of Jonesboro; several Euchre club and lunch friends; and Stacy’s children’s father, Tom White of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Bob Owen.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, July 17, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 W. Kem Rd., Marion, IN 46952.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Elaine’s life will begin at 11:00 am with Father Hilary Okeke officiating.  Burial will take place at 1:00 pm at Marion National Cemetery.
