Edna Whitton, 83, LaFontaine, passed away at 12:40 am on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine. She was born in LaFontaine, Indiana, on Thursday, May 25, 1939, to Charles and Frieda (Hillie) Haggerty.
Edna graduated from LaFontaine High School and was a loan officer with Bank One until her retirement. She was a member of College Corner Brethren Church.
Edna enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, crafting, and collecting dolls. Her most beloved pastime, though, was spoiling her granddaughter. Edna and her long-time companion, Richard, would always go to auctions together on the weekends.
Survivors include her son, Charles (Kim) Whitton of LaFontaine, and granddaughter, Bailey (Daniel Wray) Whitton of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles (Frieda) Haggerty; brothers, Fred and Edward; sisters, Jessie, Ann, and Florence; as well as her long-time companion, Richard.
A graveside service and burial at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, with Dan Snyder officiating.
