Duane A. Holloway

Duane A. Holloway, 72, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. Duane was born on August 12, 1946, to the late Glenn and Zelda Holloway. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1965. Duane married Linda Mathias on October 20, 1973. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2009. On May 22, 2010, Duane married Sarajane Smith Bell. Over the years, Duane worked as a process engineer for Thompson and Panasonic, then worked as a truck driver. In 1997, Duane graduated from Indiana University of Kokomo with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Duane was a Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Coral Sea during Vietnam, and earning the rank of ET5. He was an active member of the Van Buren Lions Club, having served as past president, Walk by Faith Community Church, and was an avid reader, enjoying stories about Native American and Civil War history. He enjoyed photography, leather crafting, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a kind and hardworking man and would help his neighbors by mowing their yards. Duane also enjoyed exploring restaurants; his favorites being the Turkey Farm in Michigan and J&L, where he and his wife, Sarajane, would go every Thursday.

Duane is survived by his wife, Sarajane, Marion; daughter, Melissa (Frank) Panico, Marysville, WA; two step-daughters, Julie (Ben) Niccum, Lebanon, and Janet (Anthony) Boyd, Peru; four grandchildren, Fiona, Sofia, Rebecca, and Levi; great-granddaughter, Adaline; brother, Albert (Bonnie Jeanne) Holloway, Marion; two sisters, Joyce (Frank) Murphy, Marshall, MI, and Betty (David) Hulley, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Zelda Holloway, and his first wife, Linda Holloway.

In accordance with Duane’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Walk By Faith Community Church, 515 South Chippewa Street, Roann, Indiana 46974. Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana.
