Dr. Michael “Mike” J. Tegarden, 63, Kokomo, passed away in his home at 11:32 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. He was born in Marion on May 6, 1955, to the late Robert and Mary (Wilson) Tegarden.
Son, brother, companion, friend, caregiver, and businessman, Mike fulfilled each of these roles in his own unique way. From achieving Eagle Scout to taking care of patients, Mike gave his all to any endeavor he chose to undertake. Most of all, though, Mike loved the feral cat colony he has cared for over the past 18 years.
Mike is survived by brothers, Kenneth and Robert Tegarden; nieces, Christina, Sarah, Rebecca, and Katherine; nephew, Richard; and many friends and patients whose lives he has touched over the years. He will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Tegarden.
A graveside service for Michael will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Estates of Serenity, Marion, IN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Kokomo Humane Society, 713 N. Elizabeth St., Kokomo, IN 46901, and please feed a stray cat for Mike.
