Dorothy A. Weaver, 88, of Geneva, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on Sunday, December 15, 1929, in Adams County, IN to Vilas & Edna Lena (Dubach) Steiner. Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Hartford Twp. High School. She was a seamstress at Dunbar Furniture where she met her husband Thomas of 64 years. They got married on January 1, 1954 in Berne, he survives. She also worked as a grocery store checkout associate in Berne and Geneva. Her last employment was for the Bank of Geneva. Dorothy enjoyed visiting with her classmates from school, spending time with family, and attending sporting events. She was a member of the High Street United Methodist Church in Geneva.
Loving survivors include: Husband – Thomas Weaver, Geneva, IN, Daughter – Londa L. Miller, Leo-Cedarville, IN, Grandchildren – Ryan Miller, Ft. Wayne, IN, Greg Amstutz, Decatur, IN, 7 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her: Father – Vilas Steiner, Mother – Edna Lena (Dubach) Steiner, Son – Bradley Scott Weaver, Sister – Betty L. Steiner, Brothers – Merlin D. & Elmer W. Steiner, and Granddaughter – Brittany Weaver.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Viewing will be held from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at 2:00 PM. Pastor Michele Isch will be officiating and burial will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
