She was born April 3, 1921 in Muskegon, MI to Sylvester & Irene (Mattox) Sunday. On December 23, 1941 she married Burr Monroe. He passed away in 1976. Doris was a homemaker and a cook at Chester School, North Manchester, IN. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Bippus, IN. She is survived by sons, Gary (Marsha) Monroe, North Manchester, IN and David (Bev) Monroe, Killgore, TX; sister Jean Pehr, Ludington, MI; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
