Doris Jean Droste

Doris Jean Droste, 61, Nashville, passed away at 9:01 am on Monday, May 2, 2022, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in St. Marys, Ohio, on Friday, November 11, 1960, to Don and Georgia (Maples) Wynne. On November 16, 1991, she married John Anderson Droste, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2020.

Doris graduated from Marion High School in 1979. She was the owner of Black Diamond Logistics in Indianapolis and Somerset Inc. in Somerset. She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Jada, Palin, and Taco-Bob. She was preceded in death by her dogs, Gabby and Beamer. She liked fishing, listening to music, driving her purple Jeep, and watching soap operas and court TV. Doris was an avid Colts, Cubs, and Hoosiers fan. She often enjoyed relaxing and sitting on her deck. More than anything, Doris cherished her family, especially the time that she spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Georgia L. (late Don) Wynne of Alexandria; mother-in-law, Mary (late John B.) Droste; sons, Randi (Jenny) Harris of Carmel and Wesley (Brittany) Harris of Nashville; daughter, Elizabeth (Anna) Droste-Glowinski of Indianapolis; grandson, Alexander Wynne Harris; granddaughters, Isla Jean Harris, Elizabeth Droste-Glowinski, Lila Droste-Glowinski, Josephine Droste-Glowinski, Charlotte Droste-Glowinski, Ellie Dawn Dupuis, and Alexis Cherry; sister, Becky (Harold) Jeffries of Summitville; nephews, Stephen (Breanne) Jeffries, Jason (Lacie) Putman, Matthew (Mattie) Jeffries, and Ryan (Paige) Wynne; niece, Melissa (Mike) Grabowski; companion, Mitch Ireland; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends; and an extensive group of lifelong friends.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Don E. Wynne; daughter, Jennifer M. Droste; brother, Michael E. Wynne; and grandparents, Fred (Violet) Covert.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Doris’ life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
