Dora A. Porter, 79, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 3:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born August 15, 1938 in Auxier, Kentucky to Taylor and Martha (Hatfield) Hyden.
Dora married Johnnie Porter; he died April 2, 2010. She was an aide at Vernon Manor Children’s Home.
She is survived by two sons, Terry (Melinda) Porter of Salyersville, Kentucky, and Michael (Gale) Porter of Round Rock, Texas, four grandchildren, Courtney (Andrew) Banks of Pflugerville, Texas, William Taylor Porter, Caleb Grayson Porter, and Joseph Beckham Porter all of Salyersville, great-granddaughter Harper Grace Banks, of Pflugerville, four brothers, Orville Hyden, William Lloyd Hyden, Harold Edward Hyden, and James Roy Hyden, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Richard Hyden, and four sisters, Ola May Collins, Minnie Alice Wilcox, Jewel Giuricich, and Doris Cathleen Patrick.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 9-10:30, Saturday at the funeral home.
