Donita J. Banter

Donita J. Banter, 56, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 11, 1962, to Philip and the late Loretta Ginter. Donita graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1980. On November 18, 1994, she married Roger Banter, and he survives.

Donita enjoyed crocheting, walking, primitive camping, country music, shopping with her daughter (even though she hated shopping), and doing puzzles, especially those which were Thomas Kincaid pictures. Donita was an inspiration. She was very strong and fought her battle with cancer courageously. She always put others before herself.

Donita is survived by her husband, Roger, Van Buren; father and step-mother, Philip and Jane Hale; four children, Leonard King, II, Mack King, Jacob Banter, and Jessica Banter; four brothers, Gregory Adkins, Michael Adkins, Kevin (Angel) Adkins, and Timothy (Nancy) Hale; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Ginter; and brother, Philip Hale, Jr.

Arrangements for Donita have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Donita’s life will take place on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Converse Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 505 South Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.
