Donald E. Harlan, 69, North Manchester, passed away on January 12, 2022 at his
daughter’s home. The son of Carl D. and Leona G. (Runnels) Harlan Sr., Donald was born
August 12, 1952 in Mishawaka, Indiana.
On December 28, 1998, Don married Connie S. Lowe. For the past twenty-three years they
built a simple and happy life together. Don was a simple, hard-working man who took great
pride in providing for his family. After a thirty-nine year career at Whitley Manufacturing in
South Whitley, Indiana, Don spent much of his time enjoying nature from his porch watching
small animals like birds and squirrels. He also loved going fishing and camping with his
family. Don was a sports fan who enjoyed watching NASCAR and wrestling. He also enjoyed
going golfing and bowling.
The loving memory of Donald E. Harlan will be forever cherished by his wife, Connie S.
(Lowe) Harlan, North Manchester; sons, Donald A. (Amanda) Harlan, North Manchester and
Joe (Sheryl) Harlan, Warsaw; daughter, Jessica (Brandon) Strevey, Bourbon; brother,
Warren E. (Patricia) Harlan, Ridinger Lake; Thirteen grandchildren and ten great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl D. and Leona G. (Runnels)
Harlan Sr., and one brother, Carl D. Harlan Jr.
Per the wishes of Donald, there will be no services. Burial will take place at Swank Cemetery
at a later date.
