Diona Lucille Brumett, 85, Marion, passed away in her home at 4:30 am on Monday, October 19, 2020. She was born in Brodhead, Kentucky, on Friday, August 9, 1935, to Dempsey and Myrtle (Proffitt) Bishop. On September 15, 1956, she married Lenord A Brumett.
She was a faithful wife and mother who served her family well. She was a member of Oak Chapel United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Upland Chapter. Diona enjoyed camping, playing BINGO, and going to casinos. She also liked playing cards and traveling. Most important was her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include her son, Douglas (Eldora Gay) Brumett of Marion; daughters, Rhonda (Michael) Mahoney of Marion, Debra Herndon of Summerfield, FL, Teresa (Tim) Phipps of Lady Lake, FL, Donna Parker of Sweetser; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Noah (Judy) Bishop of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dempsey and Myrtle Bishop; husband, Lenord A. Brumett; sister, Julia Fansler; grandson, Michael Brown; and son-in-law, Ray Herndon.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020, at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, 1335 Jadden Rd., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Diona’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Don Brenneman officiating. Burial will take place at Jefferson Cemetery.
