Delona L. Johnson 82, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 25, 2023. She was born on November 15, 1940, the daughter of James and Helen Moreland.
Delona lived in Marion all her life and married S. Allen “Cowboy” Johnson at the age of 17. They have been married for 65 years. He survives her. Also surviving her are their daughters, Tanya (Chris) Armstrong of Branson, MO, Debbie (Manny) Flint of Fort Myers, FL, and Stacy Johnson of Marion; grandchildren, Sarah (Kevin) Rein of Branson, MO, Michael (Channing) Lotten of Nashville, TN, Chad (Kirstin) Flint, Austin Flint of Fort Myers, FL, and Jennifer Collins of Westfield; great-grandchildren, Grace and Easton Rein of Branson, MO, and Tripp Flint of Fort Myers, FL; sisters-in-law, Drucilla Dennison and Nanette Recometa, both of Marion; niece, Lynnanne Fager; nephews, David Dennison, Sean Recometa, Scott Recometa, and Oscar Recometa; and a cousin, Kay Zeigler of Hartford City.
Delona had many hobbies over the years. She was very artistic and loved to paint, garden, landscape, and bird watch just to name a few. She had also volunteered at United Way, the Easter Pageant, Girl Scouts, and craft shows, working with her uncle Clifford Seagrave.
Delona loved Cowboy, her family, and friends, as well as the many pets she had throughout her life. She will be forever missed.
A graveside service will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
