David W. Sollars, 59, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 1:04 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on January 28, 1964, to Norman “Tex” and Barbara (McCollister) Sollars in Wabash, Indiana.
David was a 1982 graduate of Southwood High School. He worked for Dana Corporation in Marion, Indiana. Dave enjoyed drag racing Harley-Davidson motorcycles all over and also enjoyed his family and friends.
David is survived by his mother, Barbara Sollars of LaFontaine, Indiana; one nephew, Kenny (Melissa) Sollars of LaFontaine, Indiana; one great-nephew, Kolton Sollars of LaFontaine, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jim Sollars.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the funeral home.
