David Ross Johnstone, 81, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 12:42 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at his residence in Wabash, Indiana. He was born on August 4, 1942, in Kentucky.
David served in the United States Navy. He married Frances A. Cooper on December 26, 1972. David worked for General Motors Corp. before retiring in 2003. He also worked as a Wabash County Sheriff’s deputy before transferring to the Wabash City Police. David enjoyed fishing with his wife and attending church on Sunday morning.
David is survived by. his wife, Frances Johnstone of Wabash, Indiana; two stepsons, Bruce Gross of Wabash, Indiana, Keith Gross of Gas City, Indiana; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one son, David Johnstone Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Christian Heritage Church, 2776 River Road, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Homes, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.
