Darrell D. Brubaker

Darrell D. Brubaker, 79, of rural Kokomo, passed away at 9:05 A.M., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Northwoods Village, Kokomo. He was born in Miami County, IN on August 13, 1938, the son of Earl and Leota Cline Brubaker. Darrell married Carol L. Johnson at the Windfall UMC on October 3, 1959 and she survives. Darrell was a 1957 graduate of Eastern High School and was employed as a storeroom clerk at Haynes International for 35 years retiring in 1996. Darrell was a member and volunteer for the Tri-State Gas, Engine and Tractor Show in Portland, IN for more than 40 years. He was an avid wood worker and thoroughly enjoyed restoring antique gasoline engines. Darrell had battled Parkinson’s Disease and donated his brain to Harvard University for study of Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. Surviving in addition to his wife Carol, are daughters Kim (Randy) Rash of Greentown and Krystal (Arlen) Archer of Kokomo; grandchildren Bradley (Lori) Taylor, Bryan Taylor, Jacob (Kira) Archer, Justin (Tina) Rash and Jessica Quirk; great-grandchildren Kaidyn Rash, Logan Rash, Kami Taylor, Abel Taylor and Jace Quirk; a brother Charles Harvey Brubaker of Logansport and a sister Darlene (John) Rockenbaugh of Missoula MT. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Letha Mahler. Graveside services for Darrell D. Brubaker will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kendall Cemetery 4120 E. 1400 S., Amboy, IN with Pastor Logan Sparling officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, Inc.
