Daniel W. Wagner

Daniel W. Wagner, 90, of Peru, passed away at 8:33AM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Logansport, IN on April 17, 1928, the son of William J. and Sarah Crowe Wagner. Dan married Nellie J. Carter in Logansport, on November 8, 1952 and she survives.

Dan served as the Chief Clerk on the Norfolk and Southern Railroad retiring after 38 years of service. A devout Roman Catholic he was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. Dan was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served as past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Msgr. Paul A. Welsh Assembly #2146. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for over 75 years and received numerous Scouting Awards to include the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth in 1977. In 2007 he was designated a Melvin Jones Fellow for dedicated humanitarian services to the Lions Club International. Surviving in addition to his wife Nell, are sons Mark Wagner and his wife Mary of Indianapolis, IN and Brian Wagner and his wife Patricia of Westfield, IN; a granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Walls and her husband Jordan, a great-granddaughter Brooklyn Anne Walls and a sister Esther Ann McMillen of Logansport, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Patricia Wagner and sisters Mary Worl, Helen Knight, Dorothy Grimes and Sarah Jane Kitchel.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life o Daniel W. Wagner will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th Street, Peru, IN with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Interment will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Cass County, IN. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN.

There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to St. Vincent DePaul, or the American Heart or Lung Association.
