Dale L. Hewitt, age 95, of Marion, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Marion General Hospital.
Dale was born on February 21, 1927 in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Arthur and Velma Hewitt. He married Grace Marie Wlodarczak in 1947, and she preceded him in death in May 2001.
Dale served in the U. S. Army and then worked as a nurse’s aide at the VA Hospital in Marion for 35 years, and then worked another 28 years at the Marion Library. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa; and the American Legion Post 10, Marion. Dale enjoyed bowling and fishing.
He is survived by two sons, Art (Lynn) Hewitt and Steve (Judy) Hewitt; a sister, Carolyn Rogers; 4 granddaughters, Alecia, Kelly, Stephanie and Erin; 5 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and his life partner, Nyla Purvis.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Richard Hewitt; and a sister, Ruth Ellen Isenbarger.
Private graveside services will be held in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
