Curtis Duane Ribble

Curtis Duane Ribble passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 8, 2024 after a 20 day stay at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne IN.

He was born June 27, 1956 to Marie and Howard Ribble, in Peru IN.  He was the youngest of nine children.   His surviving siblings are:   David (Elizabeth) Higgins, Don (Kitty) Ribble, Barbara (LD) Conrad, Pamela Ribble, Brenda (John) Boyer and Paula Ribble.   The family recently connected with another brother, Howard Ribble, Jr.   He has more nieces and nephews than you can count.   He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, Gary Ribble and a sister, Patty Siegel.

Curtis met his true love, Dana Hardwick Davies, in 1994 and they were married 28 years ago on June 24, 1995.  Together they raised their four children, Joseph (Aimi) Ribble, Nicholas (Amanda) Ribble, Derek (Jessica) Davies and Andrea Batdorf.

Their family has continued to be blessed with ten grandchildren:  Pharyn Childers, Gabriel Ribble, Nolan Ribble, Alexander Ribble, Arya Ribble, Chloey Davies, Sadie Davies, Dylan Davies, Garrett Davies and Jackson Batdorf.

Curtis worked many different jobs over the years with two of his favorites being Akron Concrete and Maconaquah School Corporation.  He thoroughly enjoyed being a bus driver and interacting with all the wonderful children that he built relationships with and was heartbroken when he was physically not capable to drive anymore.

An outdoorsman at heart, Curtis clocked countless hours in the woods hunting whitetail deer.   He enjoyed sharing this sport with his son, Nick.  One of his past times was to cruise the countryside enjoying the wildlife, especially the eagles in the area.   He loved spending time in his garage and was always coming up with new projects to stay busy.  He enjoyed building model cars, watching western TV shows, spending time with his children, and supporting his grandchildren in the many sports activities they are involved in.

The funeral service will be held before visitation with Pastor Robert Clark officiating at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W 3rd St, Peru IN on February 13, 2024 at 3PM. Visitation will follow from 4PM – 6PM.
