The Wabash County Council approved three companies to have met annual tax abatement compliances at its meeting Monday night, May 22.
The companies–Hipsher Tool and Die, Midwest Eye Consultants and Vision Properties, and Advanced Ag Resources–received 10-year tax abatements from the council with Hipsher’s granted in 2012, Advanced Ag’s conferred in 2014 and Midwest Eye’s awarded in 2015, according to Keith Gillenwater, Economic Development Group of Wabash County CEO.
Each year, the companies are reviewed to ensure that their business practices are in accord to their individual abatement’s set requirements.
All three companies not only met compliance, but exceeded it with each company hiring more personnel than originally planned as well as payroll, Gillenwater told the council.
“They’ve all made all of their investments (they said they would), they exceeded their payroll numbers and, actually, all the jobs they were supposed to add on, too, which I think is a good sign,” he said. “I think it is a testament to this council for working with companies that are growing like that to be able to give them some incentive.”
