Community Foundation Continues to Provide Emergency Relief through the COVID-19 Assistance Program

The Community Foundation of Wabash County is continuing to provide emergency relief grants through
the COVID-19 Assistance Program, which was created to assist Wabash County citizens who have lost
their wages and income, or who are still working but lost childcare supervision (ages 0-12) due to
business, school, and childcare closings. As Governor Holcomb’s “Stay-at-Home” order has been
extended, and as coronavirus cases increase across the state, for many individuals in Wabash County, now
is a time of urgent need. To provide assistance to our fellow neighbors, family, and friends in Wabash
County, we seek your contributions and we ask you to share the COVID-19 Assistance Program
with individuals who may be eligible to apply.
The Community Foundation is pleased to partner with REACH in North Manchester, Wabash Area
Ministerial Association (WAMA), and Wabash County Township Trustees to administer these grants.
REACH, WAMA, and the Township Trustees will serve applicant sponsors who will recommend
grants to the Community Foundation on the applicant’s behalf.
Eligibility and How to Apply for Assistance
Eligible individuals who can apply for assistance grants, are individuals who:
 Have lost their jobs, income, or wages related to COVID-19 business closures and layoffs, and
have no other significant source of income, and
 Are still working and need to provide for childcare (ages 0-12) due to school and daycare
closures, and have no other significant source of income.
Wabash County citizens who meet the above criteria can request applications for assistance by contacting
the Community Foundation COVID-19 Assistance Program Partners who serve as applicant sponsors
including: REACH, WAMA, or their respective township trustee (contact information listed at the end
of the article). Qualified expenses will include (1) rent and utilities, including electrical, gas, and water,
(2) medical expenses, and (3) childcare (ages 0-12) supervision expenses for parents who are still working
and cannot stay home due to school and childcare closures. Grants will be paid directly to vendors,
including landlords and utility companies, and will not be paid to the individual.

Contribute to the COVID-19 Assistance Program!
For the past 66 years, the Community Foundation of Wabash County has been addressing the needs of
Wabash County citizens and building prosperity in our community. We are grateful for the generations of
donors who have provided support to our residents and our county over the years. Throughout this
pandemic and the “Stay-at-Home” order, there have been tremendous efforts by many individuals,
organizations, and businesses in our community to support one another and adapt to this new, and
hopefully very temporary, way of living. Thank you for giving to others and for the sacrifices you are
making by continuing to stay home and practice social distancing. Thank you too, to the doctors, nurses,
and first responders on the front-lines working to fight this pandemic.
To see our community come together and support one another during this time of uncertainty and need is
what makes each of us proud to call Wabash County our home. Now, more than ever, our fellow
Wabash County citizens need your help!  To provide assistance, we again ask you to share this program
with eligible individuals or to donate to the COVID-19 Assistance Program on our website,
www.cfwabash.org or by mailing a check to 105 West Second Street, Suite 100, North Manchester, IN
46962, with the COVID-19 Assistance Program in the memo line. If you have questions related to the
