Clyde “Leon” Flatter, 75, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, November 06, 2018 at his home in Montpelier, IN. He was born on Thursday, September 30, 1943, in Muncie, IN. He married Karen Inman on Friday, October 12, 1962 in Delaware County, IN. Leon was a 1961 graduate of Montpelier High School. He attended General Motors Institute for 2 years. He worked 34 years for Indiana Michigan Power, and was a Montpelier EMT for 15 years. He was a member of the Montpelier First Baptist church, Carpenters for Christ, and was a Boy Scout assistant leader. Leon enjoyed fishing and above all spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Karen Flatter, Montpelier, IN, Son – Neil (Amy) Flatter, Grand Blanc, MI, Son – Duane (Jane) Flatter, New Castle, IN, Grandchildren – Micah Flatter, Ohio, Derek (Kristen) Flatter, Grand Blanc, MI, Courtney (Spencer) Roberts, New Castle, IN, Trevor Flatter, New Castle, IN, Aunt – Ethelyn Bourne, Hartford City, IN, Nephews – Brian Castle, Hartford City, IN and Harold (Vida) Castle, Hartford City, IN,.
He was preceded in death by his: Father – Harold L. Flatter, Mother – Zerellda M. (Whybrew) Flatter and Sister – Patricia Flatter Castle.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Friday, November 09, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Leon’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 with Pastor Les Bantz officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
