City of Peru to Participate in the Veterans History Project

VHP

PERU, Ind. – The office of Senator Joe Donnelly, along with the city of Peru are inviting veterans to preserve our military history for future generations of Americans by participating in the Veterans History Project.  The project was created in 2000 to collect, preserve, and make available the personal stories of American veterans. These oral histories are recorded then kept in permanent collections of the Library of Congress. These personal accounts allow us to hear directly from those who protected our freedoms, and help us better understand the realities of military service. If you are a veteran of any branch of the United States Military and served at any time, please join them to share and record your story. The Veterans History Project takes place this Thursday, April 20 from 2-4 PM at the City Council Chambers at Peru City Hall, located at 35 S. Broadway. You can RSVP by calling Ryan Wiegand at 317-226-5555.
