Christine “Chris” N. Clevenger

Christine “Chris” N. Clevenger, 78, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion.  She was born in Grant County on January 8, 1940, to the late William and Juanita (Nelson) Harmon.  On June 22, 1958, Chris married her loving husband, William “Bill” L. Clevenger, and he survives.

Chris was a graduate of Van Buren High School and a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was actively involved in the women’s Bible study group.  She was a hairdresser/stylist throughout her career.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family.  Her greatest passion were her grandchildren.  She will also be remembered for how very caring and giving she was.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bill; daughter, Katrina (Mark) Vermilion, Nicholasville, KY; son, Aaron (Donna) Clevenger, Marion; grandchildren, Lauren Vermilion, Brandon Vermilion, Madeline (Jake) Halm, Nathan Vermilion, Kaylen Vermilion, Lukas Clevenger, and Emma Clevenger; sister, Loxi (Ned) Diskey, Fairmount; brother-in-law, David Clevenger, Knoxville, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Harmon, and a brother, Billy Harmon.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with Chris’ funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Liberty Baptist Church, 517 Church St., Sweetser, IN.  Pastor Terry Bishir will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory.
