Christian A. McAllister, 97, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:40 pm, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at her home. She was born on May 25, 1926, in Crarae, Scotland, to Herbert and Barbara (Thomson) Kennedy.
Christian married William McAllister in Glasgow, Scotland on September 25, 1952; he died November 6, 1984. She was the kitchen manager at Clark’s Cafeteria in Wabash for 17 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, and also a member of A.A.R.P. Christian lived in Scotland until moving to the United States in 1963.
She is survived by two children, Maureen (Steven) Music and Stewart McAllister, both of Wabash; three grandchildren, Kyle (Melissa) Brumley of Wabash, Graham (Lanae’) McAllister of Ossian, Indiana, and Andrew McAllister of Wabash; and six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Korbin, and Kennedy Brumley, Sophia, Ella, and Riley McAllister. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Dorothy Walker and Margaret Rowan.
Funeral services will be 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Laura Helm officiating. Friends may call 6-7 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wabash Presbyterian Church.
