Cecile M. Broxon

Cecile M. Broxon, age 84, of Huntington, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at Oakbrook Village in Huntington.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1190 West 500 North with Bishop Keith Hughes officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to Huntington County Humane Society, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Cecile was born on September 15, 1933 in Amanda, Ohio, the daughter of Estel Gale and Edna Pearl (Raymond) Cavinee. She married James W. Broxon on October 12, 1949; he preceded her in death on December 23, 2011. In Huntington, Cecile worked in production at Memcor and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she was also a member of VFW Post #2689 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She loved to do crafts, play Bingo, watch game shows, and travel. She was known as an AWESOME COOK.

Survivors include daughters Sharon (Kevin) Herring of South Whitley, Rhonda (Gregory) Andrews of Kimmel, Judith (Rodney) Taylor of Andrews, and Deborah (Shaun) Bickel of Huntington; sons James E. Broxon of Roanoke, David L. (Peggy Snyder) Broxon of Mt. Etna, and Paul A. Broxon of Huntington; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Lee O. Cavinee, William F. Cavinee, and Lawrence E. Cavinee, sisters Virginia Rush and Beatrice Murphy, half-brothers Richard Courtney and Lloyd Cavinee, and four grandchildren.
