Cass Street Crash Injures Three

WABASH,Indiana — On June 16, 2016, at approximately 7:17 p.m. Wabash City Police responded to a two vehicle crash located on Cass Street near Alber Street. The crash involved Jack E. Middleton, North Manchester, and Isabella E. McHaney, Wabash. The crash is still under investigation, but preliminary results show that Middleton suffered from a medical condition and crossed into the path of McHaney thus colliding with the McHaney vehicle. Sgt. Tyler Guenin of the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department was first on scene. Sgt. Guenin and another motorist administered life saving techniques on Middleton until Wabash City Fire arrived on scene. Middleton was transferred to a medical helicopter which was waiting in the Wabash High School parking lot. Middleton was taken by helicopter to a Ft. Wayne hospital. Mchaney and her two year old child were taken to Parkview Wabash for treatment by Wabash City Fire. Assisting at scene were Wabash County Sheriff’s Department, Wabash City Fire Department, and Wabash County EMA.
