Carol Sue Dalton, 81, North Manchester, formerly of Logan, West Virginia, passed away August 21, 2023, at Parkview Randallia Hospice in Fort Wayne. Born on July 12, 1942, in Holden, West Virginia, Carol was the daughter of the late John B. and Matilda Jane (Shadd) Patrick.
On August 23, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Elehew Anderson Dalton. The couple was blessed with five children who they loved dearly. The family moved from Logan, West Virginia, to North Manchester in 1983. Carol was a simple woman who told it like she saw it while loving unconditionally. She enjoyed fried chicken, coffee, westerns, and dancing, but most of all she loved watching her grandchildren grow and lit up when they sang karaoke.
The loving memory of Carol Sue Dalton will be forever cherished by her children, Charles (Marilyn) Dalton, Anderson, Jerome Dalton, David Dalton, Tammy (James) Griffey, and Richard Dalton, all of North Manchester; grandchildren, Charles (Autumn) Dalton, Amanda (Richie) Powell, both of South Dakota, Roxanne (Taylor) Dalton, Anderson, Joshua (Alicia) Griffey, Candace (Greg) Stephens, both of North Manchester, and Corey Dalton, Huntington; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Morgan, and Rylee Dalton, Logan and Hayden Powell, Izaya Dalton, Gracelyn Hartman, and a new addition arriving in March 2024; and a brother, James Patrick, West Virginia. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elehew Dalton; brothers, John, Harold and William B. Patrick; and sisters, Cora, Nellie, Jackie, Judy, Fannie, and Louise.
Friends and family may call Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, County Road 300 East and County Road 1000 North, Servia, Indiana.
