Carol A. (Oldfield) Bone, 79, Marion, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at her residence. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on July 27, 1943, to Percy and Lucille (Rice) Oldfield. On March 25, 1962, she married the love of her life, John R. Bone.
She graduated from Marion High School in 1961. Carol was known as “The Cake Lady”; she owned and operated Carols Cake’s & Catering for 30 years. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club and Water Aerobics. She was a certified Wilton cake instructor. Carol was very active in community events. She always had her hand in something: protests, meetings, water and power plant conservations just to name a few. Carol loved nature and being outdoors, gardening, flowers, and bird watching. She was also a crafty lady; she enjoyed needle-work, knitting, and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John R. Bone; sons, Mark (Sharon) Bone, and Brad (Staci) Bone; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Donna) Oldfield; and special loved ones, Mary (John) Shipley, Greg (Trish) Rice, Tina Behr, and Linda Grosswiler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Lucille Oldfield; father and mother-in-law, Robert O. (Margaret L.) Bone; 3 brothers; and 2 brothers-in-law.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Carol’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
