C. “Agnes” (Draper) Ross

C. “Agnes” (Draper) Ross, 92, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion.  Born in Fairmount on September 17, 1926, Agnes was the daughter of Ephraim and Mary Etta (Pace) Draper.  She married her loving husband, Willis N. Ross, and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1985.

Agnes was a nursing assistant throughout her life at the Marion VA Medical Center.  She was also a licensed beautician.  Her caring and loving attributes were invaluable not only in her profession but in caring for her special needs daughter, whom she cared for from 1954-2015.  Agnes also loved the Lord and served Him faithfully.  She was a true prayer warrior for others.  She was a member of and actively involved at Twin City Bible Baptist over 62 years.  She was also a member of Eastern Star and XYZ.  Crocheting and fishing with her family were a couple of her favorite activities.

She will be missed by her sister, Mary Etta (Charlie) Austin, Fort Wayne; cousin, Ed (Anita) Pace, Marion; daughter, Carol Thompson, Summitville; nephew, Billy (Dixie) Denson, Springport, IN; honorary daughter, Susan (Aaron) Smith, Gas City; honorary grandchildren: Ashley (Brandon) Fultz, Marion; Sean Carl, West Lafayette; and Kaitlyn Carl, Gas City; great-grandson, Ryder Fultz; special friends, Bob and Pam Bournique, Marion, and Sarah Kain, Jonesboro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Hattie (Wayne) Duling, Louisville, KY; Helen Draper, Marion; and Sarrah “Elma” (Dick) Bruner, Jonesboro.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with Agnes’ funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Twin City Bible Baptist, 7252 S. Meridian St., Marion, IN.  Pastor Dale Schuiteman will be officiating with burial following at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
