Bradley Jacob “Brad” Baker

Bradley Jacob “Brad” Baker, age 35, of Marion passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his mother’s home.

Brad was born on December 13, 1985 in Marion, Indiana the son of George Baker and Patricia (Phifer) Baker.  He graduated from Marion High School in 2004 and Purdue University in 2010 with two Bachelor’s degrees in Management and Genetics.  He was Operations Manager and the OSHA Compliance Coordinator for T.J.R. Fabrication.  He also owned a small lawn and landscaping business, Brad Baker’s Outdoors Grounds Care and was a former salesman for Ray Harris Chrysler Jeep & RV.

While in high school, he was the Varsity basketball manager, lettered in tennis and was a member of 26th St. Singers.  Brad was an Eagle Scout member of Troop 433 and the Converse Masonic Lodge 601.  He was a 10 year member of the Grant County 4-H in the Happy Clovers Club.  He played basketball, baseball and soccer at the Marion PAL Club.  Brad also participated in the Marion Civic Theatre.  He was an avid White Sox fan.  Brad was an organ donor sacrificing for others in death as he did in his daily life. 

He is survived by his father and step-mother, George (Sheli) Baker of Carmel; his mother, Patricia Baker of Marion; sisters, Lindsey Baker of W. Lafayette, and Whitney Baker of Marion; step-sisters, Natalie Burrow of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Lindsey (Nick) Babb of Noblesville; uncle, Butch (Rebecca) Baker of New Castle; nephew, Landon  Jacob Baker of Marion; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Edna Phifer, and Robert and Elsie Baker; and uncles, Phillip M. (Peggy) Phifer and Alan Baker.

Friends and family may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1206 N. Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana and on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the church prior to funeral services.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Sean Willman and Fred Hearn officiating.  Burial will take place in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana immediately following funeral services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202; or to the Grant County 4-H Fair Association, 1403 E. State Road 18, Marion, Indiana 46952 for the Grant County Extension.
