Billy F. Berry, 86, Alexandria, went to be with the Lord at 5:10 am on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in his home. He was born in Sharon Grove, Kentucky, on Sunday, January 5, 1936, to Walter E. and Effie Mae (Gilbert) Berry. On October 16, 1992, he married JoEllen “Jodi” Harreld, and she preceded him in death on June 5, 2018.
Billy attended Todd County High School in Elkton, Kentucky. After moving to Marion, he worked at Dana Corp., where he was a machine operator for 34 years. He attended The River Church in Marion.
Billy enjoyed traveling, riding his motorcycle, and playing pool and Euchre. He also liked boating and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. More than anything, Billy was a strong Christian man who was dedicated to his Lord.
Survivors include his sons, Eddy (Debra) Berry of Marion, Alvin (Susan) Berry of Kemp, TX, Calvin Berry of Pooler, GA, and Billy G. (Eva) Berry of Marietta, GA; daughters, Debbie (Larry) Hymes of Alexandria, Ladonna (David) Christmas of Russellville, KY, and Phyllis Berry of Franklin, KY; step-son, Brian (Robin) Freeman of Marion; step-daughter, Rhonda Freeman of Marion; 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Jameson Freeman and Cameron Freeman; brothers, Edgar (Naomi) Berry, Harold Ray (Mildred) Berry, Charlie (Janice) Berry, and James Chester “JC” (Gracie) Berry; and sister, Elsie Marie (Charlie Lavonne) Goodnight.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Billy’s life will begin at 2:00 pm. Pastor Matthew Trexler will be officiating with entombment taking place at Grant Memorial Park.
