Beverly Louise Wegert

Beverly Louise Wegert, 78, of Peru, passed away at 10:10 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Millers Merry Manor of Peru. She was born  in Moline, Illinois on February 12, 1940, the daughter of Daniel and Charlotte Virginia Wilkerson Mishler. Bev married Vernon D. Wegert at the First Presbyterian Church in Peru on October 31 , 1987 and he survives. Bev was a 1958 graduate of Peru High School, and was employed by Marathon Oil in Finley, OH for more than 30 years. Upon returning to Peru and marring Vernon she served as Court Administrator for Judge Gary Palmer. Bev was a member of the Chapel of Praise and she was involved in the VBS Ministries. She and Vern were active in the local meals on wheels program for many years. Bev truly loved her cats. Surviving in addition to her husband Vern are step-children Eric Wegert and his wife Stacia of Kokomo, IN, Daniel Wegert of Elgin, IL and Katherine Cochran and her husband Timothy of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren Tina Carmain, Nicholas Wegert, Daniel Wegert, Zachary Cochran and Nichole Cochran; great grandchildren Landyn Wegert, Dominique Wegert and Abigail Carmain and a brother Edward Mishler and his wife Janet of Stanford, SC. A service celebrating the life of Beverly L. Wegert will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, IN with Pastor Marie Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Cass County, IN. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
