Beverly “Denise” LaMott

Beverly “Denise” LaMott, 65, of Marion, passed away at 10:39 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Marion Health. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, May 30, 1958, to Huey and Diana (Lowe) Byous.  Denise graduated from Maconaquah High School, and she worked at various places over the years until her retirement.  Denise lived at Aperion Care in Marion.

Denise will be remembered as one who was a free-spirited hippie at heart.  She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She took pleasure in crafting and was an avid shopper.  In the 1980s, Denise helped in the organization of Hands Across America.  She also was involved in the Veterans Memorial Wall for many years.  Her parents owned Noah’s Ark Pet Shop in Kokomo, and she loved working with the animals.  She especially enjoyed dogs and horses.  

Survivors include her daughters, Morning (Mike) Pickens of Denver and Crystal Powers (Copp) of Russiaville; grandchildren, Kendra, Heaven, Christian, Hayley, and Kandise; great-grandchildren, Benett and Berkley; several nieces and nephews; and former spouse, Vince Powers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rickey and Huey, Jr.; and former spouses, Michael LaMott and Richard Tew.

A Celebration of Life for Denise will take place from 3pm until 12 Midnight on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Elliott House, 1216 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, IN 46901.  Food and beverages will be provided; however, feel free to BYOB.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
