Betty J. Jeter, 83, of Peru, passed away at 1:05 P.M., Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Betty was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 31, 1932 the daughter of Frank H. and Edna R. (Kronke) Bearswilt. She married Raymond Vance, the father of her son James. She later married Howard S. Jeter on August 7, 1971.
Betty attended Lawrence High School and Indiana Business College and is a member of the Loree Brethren Church.
Surviving is a son, James Vance and his wife Diana of Amboy, a step-daughter, Teresa Jobe of Connersville; grandchildren, Christopher Vance, Stephanie (Scott) Dubois, Eric (Heidi) Vance, Krysten (David) Moon, Maryann (Brandon) McQuinn, Benjamin (Mandy) Vance, Heather (Charles) McKinney, Patricia Vance, Garrison (Leslie) Evans, Aaron Vance, Matthew Vance, Michael (Shanique) Vance, Audrey (Jason) Dice, Kimberley (Jeremy) Lovins, James (Amanda) Jobe, Lisa Mitchell, Matthew Jeter, Timothy Jeter, Jr., Nathan Jeter and 42+ great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Raymond Vance and Howard Jeter, and stepson Timothy Jeter.
A service celebrating Betty J. Jeter will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Loree Brethren Church, 8483 S. Strawtown Pike, Bunker Hill, IN, with Pastor Bill Bussard officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., Monday at the church, prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Loree Brethren Church AWANA.
