Best Friends Pet Food Pantry in Wabash seeking Monetary Donations

WABASH, Ind. – The Best Friends Pet Food Pantry in Wabash is asking for monetary donations or dog and cat food to help feed needy pets in the area. BFPFP has been operating for a little over a year and gives supplemental quantities of dog and cat chow to families experiencing financial hardship.
Distribution is monthly from the community room at New Journey Community Church. Around 20 patrons come to get food for their animals. Last year the pantry gave about 2,000 lbs. of  pet food away, helping many family pets as well as feral ones. BFPFP believes all animals deserve a meal. The pantry’s motto is “Lending a paw to help keep bellies full.”
The pet food pantry started as an actual need of the founder. There was a time when when she herself was blessed to have a food pantry to use but there was nothing to feed her pets among the groceries. Some research was done and a visit to the Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry with some friends pulled it all together to start giving pet food here in Wabash County.
If it is your first time at the pantry just a little bit of basic paperwork is needed as well as an ID and any sort of proof of financial hardship. Veterans only need ID/proof you served. No hardship document needed, we are thankful for your service.
Best Friends Pet Food Pantry is ran solely on donations and with volunteers. Their Facebook page displays event posts for the food distributions. There is a donation bin at J and K’s Mega Pet or you can donate online at paypal.me/bfpetfoodpantry.
