Berneda F. Patterson, 98, lifelong resident of Marion, passed away at 7:10 am on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Colonial Oaks, most recently of Wyndmoor Assisted Living in Marion. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, February 7, 1924, to Vern and Fern (Nye) Wolf. On November 19, 1943, she married Delmar J. Patterson, and he preceded her in death.
Berneda graduated from Marion High School in 1942. She had worked at RCA (formerly Farnsworth), Idyl Wyld, and Ball Stores throughout her life.
Berneda’s life was a life well-lived. She was a devoted mother of four, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed visits to family members and couldn’t wait until the next visit. She always enjoyed ceramics and going on trips with family. She had spent many summers at the family lake cottage while making memories at Yellow Creek Lake. She always looked forward to family gatherings at the holidays.
Survivors include her daughters, Diana (Mike) Hoyt of Mentone, IN, Carol (Mike) Hamilton of West Chester, OH, and Linda (Mike) Kennedy of Marion; son, Steve Patterson of Silver Lake; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bernice Noller; and brothers, James Wolf and Vern Wolf, Jr.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Berneda’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Mike Hamilton officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
