Barbara “Sue” Clifton, 81, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:32 am, Monday, August 17, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born September 28, 1938 in Johnson County, Kentucky, to John and Grace (Keel) Vires.
Sue married John Clifton in Paintsville, Kentucky on November 15, 1957. She was a homemaker and a member of the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church. Sue enjoyed reading, listening to music, working puzzels, her cats Brat and Goober, and her dog Harley.
She is survived by her husband, John Clifton of Wabash, four children, Deborah (Lloyd) Turner of Grove City, Ohio, Ed (Iola) Clifton of Battle Ground, Indiana, Janet (Terry) Bowling of Wabash, and Mike (Annette) Clifton of North Manchester, Indiana, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sisters and brother, Betty Collins of Michigan, Rita Winters of Louisville, Kentucky, Buddy (Sally) Vires of Battle Ground, Washington, Carol Phelps of Lexington, Kentucky, and Jean (Harold) Booth of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Don and Jackie Clifton, granddaughter, TeLisa Larrowe, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Terry Hinds officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 9:30-11:00 am Thursday, at the funeral home.
