Barbara “Joann” McBride

Barbara “Joann” McBride, 90, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 9:38 am, Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Parkview Wabash Hospital. She was born on January 2, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Robert Calvin Allen and Freda (Ellis) Allen Job.

Joann was a 1950 graduate of Spencer High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis. She married Barton Rees McBride in Immokalee, Florida on June 5, 1964; he died August 21, 1975. She was an accomplished artist in various mediums to include water color, acrylic painting, and she used her artistic skills in wrapping fishing poles for many years while working for Boyd’s Fishing Equipment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until she retired.

Her mother Freda married William Curtis Job in November of 1943 and she not only gained a new step-father, but also two new step-brothers, Elvin Lee Job and Jessie Curtis Job. Joann lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and moved to Wabash in 2018.

She is survived and was cared for by her nephew, Hal (Rosemary) Job of Noblesville, Indiana, and several other nieces, nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step father, and step brothers.

Per Joann’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
