Barbara E. “Barb” Foy, 85, of Marion, passed away at 1:55 pm on Friday, September 1, 2023. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 16, 1937, to Herman and Ruth (Bish) Herring. On September 3, 1955, she married Larry A. Foy and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1994.
Barb graduated from Marion High School and worked for over 30 years at Foster Forbes, retiring on February 29, 1996. Barb enjoyed gardening and making her yard beautiful. She liked to crochet and sew. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved to read. Barb adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially going to their sporting events. Barb had an outgoing spirit and never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her son, Mark (Arlene) Foy of Marion; grandsons, Mark (Heather) Foy, Jr. and Joshua (Brooke) Foy; granddaughters, Sara Jane (Nicholas) Long, Carly Weeks-Foy and Maggie Weeks-Foy; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Abigail, Braydon, Madison, Broden, Collin, Maci, Landon, Paityn, Corbyn and Grayson; brothers, Michael (Sonja) Herring and Daniel (Joanna) Herring; several nieces, nephews and friends; as well as her dogs, Prissy and Mia; and her cat, Franky.
In addition to her loving husband whom she missed dearly, Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Herman L. and Ruth D. Herring; son, Timothy “Tim” A. Foy; granddaughter, Patsy Foy; sister, Doreen I. Clifton; and her beloved dog, Keirra.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A burial will follow at Morris Chapel Cemetery.
