Avaya ShelbiLynn Thompson Fern, 2 years old, of Sweetser, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at 7:30 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Marion Health. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on Thursday, December 26, 2019, to Robert Fern, Jr., and Adreannea Thompson.
Avaya was a miracle baby who loved life and was so happy. Her smile would melt your heart and light up your life. She loved her daddy and was his “babez”. “Avaya babaya” was her favorite song as sung by her momma.
She loved her siblings and, in spite of her limitations, just enjoyed life. She loved her times in Papaw and Nana’s pool and any water. She also loved dancing to Minnie Mouse, being outdoors, and tasting things. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Adreannea Thompson of Sweetser; father, Robert Fern, Jr.; brothers, Devon Fern, Noah Fern, and Brayson Fern; sister, Sopheia Fern; Papaw, Robert Fern, Sr.; Nanas, April Fern and Katt Myer; Grammie, Sylvia Thompson; and many more family members in the Fern/Thompson family.
She was preceded in death by Grandpa, Roy Thompson; Grandma, Becky Fern; Papaw, Jack Fern; and Mamaw, Shelby Fern.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Avaya’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Rebecca Calderon officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
