Austin R. Hurlock, 21, of Gas City, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Austin was born in Indianapolis on August 30, 1995, son of Larry D. Hurlock and Lori (Shear) Hurlock. He graduated from Mississinewa High School in 2012. Austin had an interest in many things. He was strong, creative and always had a smile on his face. Due to his limitations from Spina Bifida, he was determined and didn’t let it limit his zest for life or the fun he had. He loved playing basketball from his wheel chair, spending time on social media and watching horse and car races, going hunting with his Dad and martial arts. When he was young he loved riding his bike. Austin is survived by his mother Lorie Hurlock, Marion, IN, his father and step-mother, Larry and Diana Hurlock, Gas City, IN, Grandmother, Hilda Hurlock, grandfather, Charles (Sheryl) Shear, brother Chad (Beth) Richards, and sisters, Amy (Gary) Booher and Alicia (Jason) Whittaker, Aunt, Brenda (Tom) Ellis all of Marion, half sister, Megan (Steven) Hurlock, Swayzee, IN and step-brothers, Josh (Rebecca) Smith, Marion, Jeremy (Josie) Smith, Jacksonville, FL, Jared Smith, Gas City, IN, and step-sister, Shannon (Matt) Smith, Jonesboro, IN, several cousins including Adam McDonald, Harker Heights, TX. Austin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dean Hurlock, grandmother, Margaret Shear and uncle, Kim Shear.
Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Funeral service for Austin is Thursday, July 210, 2017 at 10 AM. Burial with graveside service will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City.
