Arzella Cope

Arzella Cope, 89 years young, Marion, received a great homecoming when she went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.  She has now joined her husband, John, along with many others who previously passed away.

Arzella was born in Whitesburg, KY, on February 6, 1929, to Louis R. and Maggie Caudill.  She retired from Emily Flinn after 20 years of service in the laundry department.  She was a member of South Marion Freewill Baptist Church.  She loved to make quilts for her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids until her hands would not let her anymore.  She also loved to cook and have her family around to tell stories.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Combs, Marion; four sons, Henry (Jeannie) Baker, Marion, Jerry Baker, Marion, Gary (Tresa) Baker, Marion, and Lloyd (Ruthann) Baker, Gas City; grandchildren, Rick (Tammy) Combs, Greg Combs, Brian Baker, Larry (Peggy) Baker, Natasha Baker, Arzella Baker, Jerry (Sandra) Baker Jr., Alison (Roger) York, Suzy (Pete) Sims, GiGi (Jerry) Knuth, Kandy (Donnie) Bridges, Rob Davis, Kristie (Troy) Bone, Lloyd (Brittney) Baker Jr., Mike Baker, and Jennifer Baker; 52 great-grandkids; and 10 great-great-grandkids.

She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jimmy Combs, Missy Jones, and Christina Althouse, as well as several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Arzella’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles Slush officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
