Annual Photo Show Winners Announced at Honeywell Center

WABASH, Ind. – Winners of the Annual Photography Show Competition at the Honeywell Center Clark Gallery, have been awarded and are currently on display through November 9th. The Photography Show is sponsored by Harmon Photography.

For this year’s photography competition, a total 47 artists submitted 133 pieces of art for entry. A total of 43 pieces were selected by judges Bruce and Judy Roberts of Cromwell, Tracy Seaman of Fort Wayne, and Raymond Steup of Yoder.

Photos selected for the exhibit were chosen based on three categories: black & white, color, and altered images. Photographers were allowed to enter up to 3 pieces, all of which could be entered into a single category or all three. The judges awarded special recognition to the following outstanding artists and their works in this year’s competition:

Best of Show: Lesley Ackman (Indianapolis) – Title: Carpe Diem (Altered Images)

Color Photograph Category:

     1st Place: Dave Imboden (Kokomo) – Title: Season Finale

     2nd Place: Lesley Ackman (Indianapolis) – Title: On Pointe

3rd Place: Michael Jack (Fishers) – Title: Sunset at Stepfoe

Color Photography Honorable Mention:

Steve Ford (Pendleton) – Title: Powder Dance

Lea Foster (Lafayette) – Title: Frogstool

Rhoda Gerig (Wabash) – Title: King of the Hill

Ray Grimball (Anderson) – Title: After the Rain

Sharmalene Gunawardena (Fort Wayne) – Title: Undercover

Peter Howard (Indianapolis) – Title: Bar Harbor Morning

Black and White Category:

1st Place: Lesley Ackman (Indianapolis) – Title: Upstairs, Downstairs

2nd Place: Barbara Grimball (Anderson) – Title: Innocence

3rd Place: Debbie Winchester (Carmel) – Title: Pas De Deux (Dance for Two)

1st Place: Darci Lynne Young (South Bend) – Title: Native American

The Photo Show is an example of how the Clark Gallery supports the visual arts. The Clark Gallery hosts more than ten exhibits per year and features students, amateurs, and professionals. Because the Gallery encompasses the semi-circle of the Honeywell Center Porter Lobby, foot traffic exceeds 200,000 guests per year. The Clark Gallery is open to the public. Artwork may be purchased through the Center’s box office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
