Anna Louise Tompkins, 83, of Gas City, passed away at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Twin City Healthcare in Gas City. She was born in Peru, Indiana, on Sunday, October 6, 1940.
The highlight of Anna’s life was her dedication to her career as a beautician. She worked for many years as a hairdresser at Dottie Ann’s Beauty Salon in Gas City. She was a dedicated mother to her four children and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (late David) Howard of Hickory, NC, Mike Tompkins of Gas City, Ronnie Tompkins of Imperial Beach, CA, and Lisa (Blu) Felver of Gas City; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Long; mother, Virginia (Grimes) Long; and her soulmate, John David Tompkins.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 403 W. 4th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Anna’s life will begin at 5:00 pm.
