Alleged School Threat Investigated At Whitko Middle School


Whitley County-Today investigators with the Indiana State Police, Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, and South Whitley Police Department investigated an alleged threat to the Whitko Middle School.

Early in the morning of February 28, 2018,  the Whitko Community School Administration received an email with a perceived threat to the school.  The Indiana State Police and Whitley County Sheriff’s Department investigated this alleged threat on site and ultimately determined this to be unsubstantiated.

Officers with the Indiana State Police, Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, South Whitley Police Department, Pierceton Police Department, Columbia City Police Department, and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department all provided an increased police presence at all the Whitko Community Schools during this investigation.

The Indiana State Police want students and their parents to know that any and all real or perceived threats towards a school and or its students will be investigated with the utmost urgency.
