Alison McAllister

Alison McAllister, 90, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 2:55 a.m., April 15, 2019 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born March 3, 1929 in Reading, England, to Robert and Florence Elizabeth (Baines) Crawford.

Alison graduated from business college in England and in 1953, she moved to the United States. She married James Grieve McAllister at the Presbyterian Church in Wabash on September 26, 1953; he died September 30, 1998. She was the executive secretary at Ford Meter Box in Wabash, several years. She was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church and the Tri Kappa Sorority. Alison enjoyed traveling, and took several group trips to Europe. She enjoyed attending then Honeywell Center programs and visiting casinos.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Karen) McAllister of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Hailey Bair, Tanner Bair, and Delaney Hyde, all of Indianapolis, and her sister, Ann Pope of Buckden, England. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Crawford, and her sister, Betty Evans.

Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30 – 2:00 pm Saturday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Alzheimer’s Association.
