Sara A. “Sally” Arnold

Sara A. “Sally” Arnold, 84, Marion, died in Marion General Hospital at 8:41 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. A lifelong resident of Marion, Sally was born to the late Theodore and Pauline (Critchlow) Pearson. In 1952, she married Joyce M. Apple, and they had five children. She then married Roger B. Arnold on January 26, 1969, and he preceded her in death.

Sally was a homemaker and faithfully served her husband and family. She loved the Lord and was a member of Christy St. UMC, now Christland UMC, where she sang in the church choir. Sally was also involved with the Grant County Home Ec Club, sang in the Easter Pageant, and volunteered at Marion General Hospital.

She enjoyed crafting, was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed playing the organ. Spending time with family was one of her greatest passions in life, and especially looked forward to when all of them could be together at Christmas time. She also enjoyed spending time with her Yorkies, Heidi and Hollie.

Survivors include her children, Debbie (Tom) Herring-Watts, Marion, Brenda (Rod) Reasen, Westfield, Kimberly “Kim” (Max) Apple-Foust, Kokomo, Charles “Chip” Apple, Marion, and Ted (Linda) Apple, Tennessee; sister, Wanda Jacobson, Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Her brother, James Pearson, also preceded her in death.

Visitation for Sally will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, with Pastor Jim McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Cemetery.
