Janet Lowe, 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Janet was born to the late Doyle and Opal (Dailey) Rohrer on February 11, 1932, in Marion, Indiana.
Janet was a great baker and worked at the bakery at Wal-Mart until she was 80. She was a member of Sims Wesleyan Church for the last 5 years. She loved to help their women’s group with dinners. She was a big Andy Griffith fan. She loved to crochet, especially to make things such as stuffed animals for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janet was a peaceful woman and enjoyed simply rocking in her rocking chair. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. She loved getting everyone together for holidays and reunions.
Janet is survived by her four children, Daniel (Natelie) Lowe, Amboy, IN, Vaughn Lowe, Converse, IN, Dwight (Michele) Lowe, Fairmount, IN, and Deborah (Mark) Hughes, Upland, IN; two sisters, Garnet (William) Downam, Marion, IN, and Martha Rohrer, LaFontaine, IN; one brother, James (Judy) Rohrer, Sandwich, IL; 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Opal Rohrer, and three brothers.
Arrangements for Janet have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana. There will be a visitation on Saturday, August 19, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Sims Wesleyan Church, 309 N Main St, Sims, Indiana. A funeral service will be held after the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Converse Cemetery.
