Dale Loren Eppley

Dale Loren Eppley, 73, of Somerset, Indiana, died at 6:52 pm, September 24, 2017 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born April 20, 1944, in Wabash, Indiana to Harold William and Helene Louise (Butts) Eppley.

Dale was a 1962 graduate of Somerset High School, where he lettered in four sports. He also attended Indiana Central, now University of Indianapolis 2 years. Dale married Barbara Elaine Pancake in Convoy, Ohio, on August 10, 1969. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era, in the Code Signal Corp. Dale owned Dale Eppley Farm Drainage and was active in the Wabash Friends Church. He enjoyed Purdue basketball, New York Yankee baseball, mushroom hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Elaine Eppley of Somerset; two sons, David William (Chad Garner) Eppley of Salem, Massachusetts, and Michael Robert (Becky) Eppley of Wabash; three grandchildren, Amber Smith of Wabash, Anthony Smith of Saguache, Colorado, and Alyce Smith of Benson, North Carolina; six great grandchildren, and his sister, Ruth Ann (John Brown) Eppley of Lady Lake, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Wabash Friends Church, 3563 S. State Road 13, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30 – 2:00 pm Wednesday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
