Anthony R. Briner, 10, passed away at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 26, 2017. He was born in Marion to Daryl Briner and Paula McCarty on December 31, 2006.
Anthony was a 4th grader at Northview Elementary School in Gas City. He loved sports, participating in football, baseball, soccer, and any sport he could find to stay busy. He also loved doing parkour. He had the biggest heart and was always helping others. Anthony was actively involved in the youth group at New Hope Baptist Church in Gas City. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family, with whom he loved spending time.
He is survived by his parents, Daryl Briner and Paula McCarty; brothers, Chaston and Anson Briner; sisters, Kailynn and Nataly Briner; grandparents, Tim (Vickey) Hall, Gas City, Cherie McCarty, Deland, Florida, Lisa (Gary) Cummings, Jonesboro, Daryl (Lynda) Briner, Gas City, and Phil (Debbie) McCarty, Michigan; great-grandmother, Penny Gorrell; aunts and uncles, Paula (David) Ricks, Gas City, Lucas (Abbie Brown) Marley, Jonesboro, Amber (Chad) Turner, Marion, Billy McCarty, Florida, Delorean Cannon, Marion, Lacy Croucher, Jonesboro, Steve (Dianna) McCarty, Florida, Dan (Tiffiany) McCarty, Knoxville, Tennessee, J.T. (Jessica) Hall, Marion, Shevny (Dan) Kosel, Galveston, Shelby (Ron) Frazzee, New Mexico, and Kim May, Marion; and many cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were grandfather, Paul McCarty, and great-grandparents, Jack (Francis) Rinker and Wayne (Norma) Briner.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church, 800 E. S. C St., Gas City. Services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
